CrossBoundary Access is recruiting a full-time Portfolio and Investment Analyst to support its investment and operational processes. The ideal candidate will be an essential part of our dynamic team, providing expertise and hands-on assistance in key areas such as fundraising, project due diligence, market entry, portfolio management, and investor reporting. As an essential part of our team, you will contribute to the operationalization of our investments and business, and the efficient expansion of our market presence.

Who We Are

  • You will play an important role in a unique team with the opportunity to make a large impact on the energy access and renewable energy landscapes in Africa, bringing first-time grid-quality power to 1 million people. Team members come from diverse backgrounds, but share several qualities: curiosity, humility, integrity, a drive for excellence, and a bias to action.
  • CrossBoundary Access is a small team, so we are looking for someone with a flexible skillset that can be adapted to add value across all of the team’s various activities. You are comfortable with ambiguity, able to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships, and passionate about energy access and renewable energy.

Who You Are

  • Self-starter who is passionate about creating lasting change within the energy sector in underserved markets
  • Excellent attention to detail, solution-oriented and able to operate in situations where information is scarce, and the environment is constantly changing
  • A diligent closer; you have excellent follow-through and find a way to deliver consistently on complex, multi-stakeholder assignments on time and on budget
  • Compulsive organizer and optimizer; you’ve made rules for how you do most activities and you’re constantly updating your practices to improve results
  • Willing to take on new types of work, even without prior experience or direct supervision
  • A flexible, utility player

Qualifications

You possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • At least 2 years’ experience working in finance, consulting, or operational roles at an international corporation or consulting for similar clients
  • Experience working in a start-up context - setting up processes and systems from scratch for a start-up, or for a new team within a larger organization
  • Experience in or understanding of working in African markets

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Cover letter describing at least two specific examples of prior work assignments you have completed that are relevant to the responsibilities of the Portfolio and Investment Analyst
  • 2+ years’ experience working in finance, consulting, or operational roles at a top-tier international corporation, finance firm,  start-up, or consulting for similar clients
  • Excellent strategic writing and presentation skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences
  • Comfort with ambiguity; ability to operate and create structure in a changing context
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree
